Cynthia Burnham, is a Board Certified Coach, executive leadership consultant, speaker, and the author of the highly-praised leadership guide: “The Charisma Edge: A How-To Guide For Turning On Your Leadership Power.” She brings her clients over thirty years of expertise gained in both independent consulting and senior Fortune 500 corporate positions. Ms. Burnham coaches individuals and groups to develop greater motivational leadership skills, executive presence, and communications alignment. She is known for her ability to help leaders bring out what is best and most authentically-powerful in themselves and others.

Prior to returning to her home, San Diego, in 2005, Cynthia was Senior Vice President, Director of Employee Relations & Development for UBS Financial Services, Inc. (formerly PaineWebber) on Wall Street. In that capacity, she led multiple groups for the 20,000 U.S. employees of the division, and participated in global, corporate-wide initiatives. She concurrently managed four areas within Human Resources: a 50-person full-service field and home office training department (Learning & Leadership Solutions), Corporate Employee Relations, F.A.I.R, a widely-acclaimed formal alternate dispute resolution department, and Diversity on an interim basis during an extended search for a Director of Diversity.

Before PaineWebber, Cynthia ran a successful consulting and training practice, where, along with coaching at Wall Street firms such as Merrill Lynch, Salomon Brothers and PaineWebber, she was a motivational speaker and a workshop facilitator who developed and delivered programs in career development, change management, communications and management skills, and Women’s Leadership, among others.

Cynthia began her career in field sales, with Gillette, Safety Razor Division. She spent nearly ten years in consumer packaged goods sales, sales management, and sales training, first with Gillette, and then with Duracell, USA. In addition to running multiple sales districts, she was the national Sales Training Manager for Duracell, USA, and had National Account-level responsibility with customers such as Wal-Mart/Sam’s Wholesale Club.

Cynthia earned an M.B.A. in Marketing from U.C.L.A., and a B.A. in Creative Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She also completed one year of coursework toward an M.A. in English Literature. She is certified in a number of assessment instruments, including MBTI, Lominger 360, DiSC, and Firo-B. She is a Board Certified Coach, and is certified at Level II for Vocal Awareness voice and presentation training. She speaks conversational French, beginning Spanish, and is a professional singer and songwriter, living in Descanso, CA. She is also a trained instructor in Laughter Yoga.
